Week 7 What a week! We left for the east coast on Friday and got to go to the ECU game! The boys did such a great job reppin the Y that they ended up on ESPN and The Cut! And BYU won!!! Then we went up to VA to spend some time with my sister and her kids. She is learning about photography and asked if she could practice on us, so she got some super cute pictures. And Daniel found so many creatures! The road was by far his favorite though. We came home for one day and Daniel got to go to Yates Place where he started to learn about the periodic table of the elements, got assigned a math group and started working on fractions, did PE, and language arts. He’s loving it there! He was also able to make it to his play practice which was awesome because the next day we went down to Vegas and met up with his grandparents to see The Wizard of Oz at The Sphere! Daniel is going to be a flying monkey in his production so he thought this was super fun! It’s amazing how much fun we can have whi...

Week 6 I was pretty sick this week so our homeschool at home was pretty light but we did finish our unit in math and we learned about paraphrasing and citing in language arts.  Yates Place co-op had some fun things this week! The kids started their ancient civilizations class and got to barter with each other! And their chemistry unit was extra fun, too - info pictured below. Also, the first picture features alllll the things Daniel wanted to bring to class, lol! I decided a backpack inspection will have to happen every day before he goes!

Week 5 This was a super fun week! Daniel got to go on a camp out with his dad. They made foil dinners and cooked them in the fire and roasted marshmallows and fruit, lol, because Daniel loves his fruit! There wasn’t much sleep that night but we still went to the BYU football game the  next day! It was a late one but we won!! The school week was filled with reading comprehension, learning arts, and math. Plus, Daniel started his first week at Yate’s Place! He’s loving it so far. One of his best friends also goes to Yate’s Place and they love that they get to go together!

Week 4 This was a super fun week! Daniel and his Aunt Bonnie took full advantage of the gorgeous weather this weekend and spent the day outside exploring at Spring Lake and then they got to go to the Onion Days carnival! The next day was our first BYU football home game of the 2025 season - woohoo! That was a blast and we are so glad we got to have Aunt Bonnie and Olivia with us! Aunt Bonnie went home on Sunday (boo!) and we enjoyed our extra day on this long weekend. We watched a movie, rested, and Daniel went swimming with his Dad. A perfect end to summer! This week Daniel has been rocking Mia Academy with his reading comprehension, language arts, and math. It's been fun to watch him engage with this curriculum. He got to start his Survivor's Quest unit and he's been loving that! We also went to Yate's Place's open house and got officially registered so Daniel will start there on Wednesday! He'll get to study ancient civilizations and chemistry there, in add...

Week 3 This week, Brian and I were out of town on a little getaway so Daniel and his Aunt Bonnie got to do homeschool together! They did math, and reading comprehension, science, and technology. And Aunt Bonnie rocked it! Daniel had a blast. He got to go to Clint's Reptiles and show Aunt Bonnie all his favorites. Reptiles are very much not her favorite thing so she was a great sport for that!! They also got to build Daniel's vacuum chamber Crunch Lab and we got lots of videos of the different things they put in the vacuum - marshmallows, soap, balloons, etc. Brian and I had a blast and saw some fun creatures and even enjoyed a lightning storm at sea! Yate's Place should start in a week or so. The open house is next week so fingers crossed that goes well!
