Learning Log #39

Week 39 Hard to believe that this is the last learning log of 5th grade!!! Daniel has his piano recital and last choir concert last week. He really is so talented in piano! This is the last year of the program he’s been doing so now we have to find him a teacher so he can keep going! But his teacher did tell us that he’s on the most talented students she’s ever had come through her program, so we will definitely find someone! Can’t let that talent go to waste!! Mother’s Day was cozy and full of lots of snuggles. He is a sweet boy. We also got to go see “Finding Neverland” at the Hale Center Theater! It was *amazing*. Daniel especially enjoyed getting to meet the dog afterwards! Although this is our last learning log for 5th grade, we are not done quite yet. We are going to keep going with some of our projects and programs through the summer. Then we’ll be back for 6th grade in the fall!!!

Week 38 It has been great to get back into the groove of things this week! Daniel jumped right back into synthesis, which he loves and is making good progress on. He also did a lot of Nessy and Epic, which is great! We did a “General Conference redo” day which was amazing and Daniel got to build a pinball machine that is pretty epic. He loved it! And he spent a ton of time outside, exploring the creek and bringing home fish and snakes, lol. It was a pretty great week! And he ended it with his last elementary choir performance! Actually, he’ll have one more that is at the school by us, but this one was the big one. I might have cried. A lot. It’s crazy that he’s growing up so quickly!

Week 37 It’s been good to be home and start getting back in our groove! Mel (our dog) was very happy to see us and we were very happy to see him! Brian had to go out of town right after we got home so Daniel did the first mowing of the season! And got hot, lol. He did a Crunch Lab that was waiting for us - a battery powered car! He had a lot of fun with that. And he’s repurposed it in his treehouse! He is still loving synthesis math and that makes me really happy. He’s getting ready for choir performances and piano recital next week. And he applied to be a Jr Ranger with Jeff Corbin, so we’ll see what happens there!
