Learning Log #30

Learning Log # 30 Another beautiful week! Daniel enjoyed so much outdoor time this week. Yates Place was fun and educational, as always. It looks like they are not quite to their Olympic games yet, but studying about heroes looks like fun! And progress is being made in math and spelling, too, which I LOVE. Daniel put together Crunch Lab's gyroscopic walker, but couldn't quite get it to work so we are looking into get a new motor. Always a fun project, though! We don't have any birds in our nest yet but we're hoping they come back! Pictured below are Daniel's current habitats - one houses two garter snakes, and the other houses isopods and a small fish. He LOVES to be outdoors and then he also LOVES bringing the outdoors inside with him!

Learning Logs 28 and 29 Ok! I think this is working. I have combined last week with this week! Last week was adventure week at Yate's Place! We participated in all but one of the adventures. The kids got to go to the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (yes, during a measles outbreak !! but Daniel is vaccinated so we didn't really worry when we heard the news), the Provo Rec Center, and the Spanish Fork Adventure Heights all abilities park! What a fun week. They still got to learn, but they also did a ton of playing. Plus Daniel got to help some friends care for their friend's animals on a working farm! He even came home with duck eggs that he hoped would hatch, lol. Had to explain that one. This past week was a regular week full of learning at Yates Place and outdoor exploration and learning at home! Plus we got to see our friend, Olivia's, play which was extra fun since her school performed The Wizard of Oz too! She was even a flying monkey, just like Daniel was in his! ...

Learning Log #27

Learning Log #27 This week was full of Yates Place and play dates, x-rays and seafood, science experiments and house cleaning! Daniel had to get some x-rays of his hips and knees - we see the doctor on Tuesday so we'll see what he says then! We were also able to get him some fried clams at Red Lobster since we didn't do that for his birthday and we were celebrating his play. He got to make perfume at Yates Place this week! He made two vials - one that is a floral, fruity scent and one that he calls "fart spray", that is a cedarwood scent. He had a blast! It was nice to get an update on his ancient civilization class too. Plus we cleaned out the fridge and the pantry and made some headway in the garage so that we can pick up his go-kart and have a place to park it! So all in all, it was a great week!

Learning Log 26

Learning Log 26 This was a big week!! Daniel finished earning the money he needed to buy a go-kart! So we filled in the last of his piggy banks and placed the order - that's a huge deal! He's been earning $60 a month for a year and his dad told him that if he could do that, we would buy him a go-kart and pay the difference in price. And he did it!!! He's so excited. I'm not sure when we'll pick it up, but it will definitly make the learning log when we do! He also performed in the Wizard of Oz all week! It was so much fun to see him up there every night. It made for some super late nights (the play was in Springville and didn't get over until 9:30) but it was worth it. He had a blast! He's the flying monkey who throws the scarecrow's legs and then leaps off the stage, by the way. So much fun! Plus he was a poppy and an Ozian as well. And such a handsome kid! We had some great support from people coming out to see him, too. I'm always so grateful! Yat...
