Learning Log # 35 and 36

  Weeks 35 & 36 These last two weeks were *amazing*! I’m so grateful for homeschooling. It makes it so much easier to have these adventures and do this kind of learning! We went to a couple of cities in Fiji, but due to some miscommunications with our tour guide, we only saw a few things. But we ate fruit from the local farmer’s market, saw our church building, chatted with locals, and visited the temple there! It was beautiful. We got to do a crazy special dining experience! They projected a little cartoon show onto our plates and we watched a tiny chef make all our food! That was crazy and fun. Then we visited the Samoas and had 2 April 18ths because we crossed the international date line! Crazy pants. Daniel wrote some postcards to a couple friends and got them mailed off.  He found more hermit crabs and chatted with the local law enforcement! Learning Logs #33-34

  Weeks 33-34 Pictures are backwards again 🤦🏼‍♀️ but we have had the •best• two weeks!! Yes, we met another homeroom teacher on our way to Australia! What a small world   We spent several days in Sydney before flying to Melbourne where we stayed with friends for a few days. Then we flew back to Sydney to get on our ship! We sailed from Sydney to New Caledonia (owned by France!) and we got to enjoy a beach day there. Then we sailed to Vanuatu and spent the day on “Mystery Island” which was the most amazing place we’ve ever been! It’s named Mystery Island because there’s a hidden air strip there and people didn’t know where these planes were taking off from. But it’s so small we could walk around the entire island in half an hour - so we did! It was the most beautiful place!! Daniel has learned a lot about Australia and Australian animals while we’ve been gone. He’s learned a lot about hermit crabs, too!
