Learning Logs #33-34

 Weeks 33-34

Pictures are backwards again 🤦🏼‍♀️ but we have had the •best• two weeks!!

Yes, we met another homeroom teacher on our way to Australia! What a small world

We spent several days in Sydney before flying to Melbourne where we stayed with friends for a few days. Then we flew back to Sydney to get on our ship! We sailed from Sydney to New Caledonia (owned by France!) and we got to enjoy a beach day there. Then we sailed to Vanuatu and spent the day on “Mystery Island” which was the most amazing place we’ve ever been! It’s named Mystery Island because there’s a hidden air strip there and people didn’t know where these planes were taking off from. But it’s so small we could walk around the entire island in half an hour - so we did! It was the most beautiful place!!

Daniel has learned a lot about Australia and Australian animals while we’ve been gone. He’s learned a lot about hermit crabs, too! He’s made friends with other kids here on the ship, one little boy from Australia in particular who asked him if Americans eat cheeseburgers every night and what colors Utah is!

We have a math workbook that we’ve been trying to keep fractions top of mind with. We also brought his piano workbook along because it will be about time for his recital when we get home! We won’t be home until April 26th so our next learning logs will still be about our travels. A little harder to do with slow or no internet connection but we’ll get it done!

Today we arrive in Fiji so we’ll have pictures and stories from there next!
