Learning Log #s 20-21

 Weeks 20-21

Christmas was so great this year! Daniel had earned and saved up quite a bit of money and he very willingly and happily spent almost all of it on gifts for other people. It was magical! Our trip to see cousins was so much fun and being home in time for Christmas was so great. It’s hard to imagine that it will get any better than it was this year. I sure love this kid.

All the cousins got Legos so they all got to build together!

Decorating and cookies and gingerbread houses is always better with cousins

This tween stage is so interesting! This cousin is just a few weeks older then Daniel and it was fun to watch them both swing in and out of “big kid” to “teenager” activities. They have one foot in each world right now, bless them.

❤️

One thing Daniel realized and really appreciated on this trip is that “it’s good to be the one.” I’m grateful he doesn’t wish he had siblings because we really did everything we could and it just didn’t work and if he was really missing that, it would break me. So I’m glad he likes being an only child. But I *loved* watching him interact with his youngest cousin. They have a lot of interests in common and are so sweet together!

Saying goodbye is always so hard!

We got an update from our little Daniel in Bolivia! They used the money Daniel made at his snowcone stand this summer to invest in some needed household items. ❤️

We always leave Santa a thank you card!

And we always read Luke chapter 2 while Daniel acts it out with our Little People set. Even at 10. I wonder how long that will last?

The quiet after Santa arrived

Joy!!

BYU won their bowl game!!

These kids. 😂😂

Building our Lego bug set

Tada!

This is a snake dissection kit Daniel got for Boxing Day. This was really really cool!

It was fun learning out each part after he’d dissected it.

All the pieces!

Doing our piano lessons at our new piano is so great!!
